Account & Subscription
Create an account, update your setup, or move to a new device. Your subscription grants account access, so keep it secure.
Do I need an email address to create an account?
No email address is required. Create an account with a username and password, and keep your login details somewhere safe. Avoid reusing the same password on different websites. After creating your account, make sure you can access the user dashboard before choosing a plan or getting a subscription. Since account access does not rely on email, don’t assume you can recover it by email. If you have trouble signing in, submit a support ticket from a dashboard you can still access and describe what happened. Never post your password or subscription details on a public page.
Where can I find my subscription link, and how do I update it in my client?
Sign in to the user dashboard and check your current plan and subscription status. Then copy or import the subscription from the link provided in the dashboard. If you’ve already imported it, open the corresponding subscription profile in your client, update it, and check the route list again. Repeatedly switching routes in an old list won’t refresh it. If the update fails, first check that your device can access the dashboard and that you copied the full link. Subscription URLs contain account credentials, so hide the link and any identifying details in screenshots you share.
Do I need a new plan when I switch devices or use multiple devices at once?
VPNWind supports unlimited devices connected at the same time, so switching devices alone doesn’t require a new plan. Sign in to the same account on the new device, get the client and subscription for that platform from the dashboard, then import the subscription and test the connection. Unlimited devices doesn’t mean each device gets a separate data allowance; usage across devices counts toward the same plan. Before handing off or retiring an old device, remove any saved subscription and account details to prevent others from accessing them.
Where can I get the client, and how is iOS different?
Client downloads for Windows, macOS, Android, and Linux are available in the user dashboard after you sign in; you don’t need to have purchased a plan. Getting the client and getting an active subscription are separate steps, so check your plan and subscription status after installing. iOS has different requirements: you need an active, unexpired plan. Follow the links and instructions shown in the dashboard for your platform. Don’t assume another platform’s installation steps apply, and don’t get subscription profiles from unknown sources.
My routes still look wrong after updating the subscription. Should I import it again?
First, make sure your client is using the subscription you just updated, not another profile left over from before. Check whether the update succeeded, then review the route groups and current selection. If the list changed but your connection still uses an old route, disconnect and select a route again. Reimport only if you’ve confirmed the existing profile won’t update correctly, using the option provided in the dashboard. Before deleting an old profile, note any routing rules you need so you don’t lose custom settings. Reimporting doesn’t replace checking your plan status or local network.
Connections & Troubleshooting
Start with your local network. Test the result after each change before trying anything else.
I can’t access the internet after connecting. What should I check first?
Disconnect the client and check that your local network can access websites on its own. If it can’t, troubleshoot the network first. Once the network is working, check your plan status, subscription update, and selected route in the dashboard, and grant any network permissions requested by the client. Temporarily close other tools that may control network traffic to avoid conflicting settings. Change one setting at a time and test again, keeping the exact error message. This makes it easier to pinpoint the issue than changing proxy, routing, and DNS settings all at once.
Why does my browser work, but a particular app doesn’t use the proxy?
Different apps may use different network paths. If your browser works, that doesn’t mean other apps are using the same proxy settings. Check whether the client’s system proxy, network mode, or routing rules include the app, then close and reopen it to establish a fresh connection. The app’s region settings, account permissions, and service rules may also affect the result. Don’t assume every issue is a route failure. Compare the browser and app on the same network, then describe what you observe in a support ticket.
The client says it’s connected. How can I check that it’s actually working?
A connected status usually means the client has established a connection; it doesn’t guarantee that every app will use the same network path. Open the specific website or app you need and check whether pages load, you can sign in, and content plays as expected. If the platform shows your network region, that can be a helpful clue. Keep in mind that access to services in mainland China and international access may require different routes and rules. Don’t rely on the status icon alone, and never enter your account password or subscription link on an unfamiliar site just to test the connection.
How do I reconnect after sleep or switching networks?
After your device wakes from sleep or switches from Wi-Fi to another network, you may need to reconnect. First, make sure the new network is working, then disconnect and reconnect in the client. If the subscription list won’t load, check for subscription updates and confirm you can access the dashboard. On mobile devices, check whether the system restricts the client’s background activity or network access, and allow what’s needed in your device settings. Reinstalling the client repeatedly won’t address these checks. If the issue keeps happening in the same situation, note the network before and after the switch and any messages you see, then submit a support ticket.
What information should I include in a support ticket about a connection issue?
In the user dashboard’s support form, include your platform, client name, selected route, access direction, target app, and the error you see. Say whether the issue occurs before or after connecting. You can also list checks you’ve already tried, such as switching networks, updating the subscription, or changing routes, to avoid repeating them. Keep screenshots focused on the relevant message and hide passwords, full subscription URLs, and sensitive payment details. Specific steps and results are more useful for troubleshooting than simply saying it doesn’t work.
Speed & Routes
Choose a route for your access direction, then compare it with your real-world tasks. Route types and location names can’t replace testing on your own network.
How can I troubleshoot video buffering during peak hours?
Pause downloads, sync jobs, and other bandwidth-heavy tasks on the same network, then see whether playback improves. Keep the video the same and compare routes suited to the direction you’re accessing; you can also test on another local network. Buffering may be caused by a weak Wi-Fi signal, your ISP’s network path, route congestion, or the streaming platform’s source. A connected status alone won’t identify the cause. Temporarily lowering video quality can help determine whether bandwidth is a factor. If only one app is affected, check its region and account restrictions too.
How do I choose between an IEPL dedicated route, a relayed route, and a direct route?
Route types describe how a connection is carried; they aren’t a universal speed ranking. An IEPL dedicated route uses a dedicated path, a relayed route goes through an intermediate node, and a direct route uses the corresponding direct connection path. Start with the access direction and service you need, then compare how well pages load, video plays, or tasks complete on your own network. A route that works well for someone else may behave differently on your device. Keep a route that suits your regular needs and switch when there’s a specific reason to do so.
Can I use the same route for services in mainland China and international services?
Choose a route based on the service you want to access, not just the location in its name. If you’re outside China and accessing content in mainland China, look for a route and routing settings suited to that direction. For international services, choose an exit path that fits the service. Test the result in the app itself, since content licensing, account region, and platform policies can also affect access. If you’re not sure what a route is for, check the descriptions in the dashboard or client, or ask through a support ticket with the service and your network environment.
Does the coverage area mean every streaming service and AI tool will work?
VPNWind covers 100+ countries and 240+ routes. This describes route coverage, not guaranteed access to every platform through every route. Streaming services and AI tools may also check your account region, subscription eligibility, exit address, and their own policies. Check the route details in your client and test the feature you need, rather than only checking whether a site’s homepage loads. A successful connection once doesn’t guarantee ongoing access; results depend on the route and platform status at the time.
Why does speed change so much when I switch routes?
Routes take different paths, and each may work differently with your network and the service you’re accessing. For a fair comparison, keep the device, local network, and task the same, and avoid mistaking background downloads or Wi-Fi changes for route differences. Page load times, video buffering, and large file transfers don’t measure exactly the same experience, so focus on your usual tasks. Don’t draw conclusions from route names or geographic distance alone. If the difference persists under the same conditions, note the route names and results and share them in a support ticket.
Billing & Refunds
Review prices, billing, and order status. For account-specific requests, contact support through the dashboard.
How much is a monthly plan, and when does data reset?
Monthly plans are ¥9.9/month for 60GB, ¥18/month for 250GB, and ¥28/month for 500GB. Data resets monthly on the date your plan started. Before choosing a plan, consider your typical browsing, video streaming, file syncing, and usage across other devices. Don’t treat one device’s usage as the total for your account. Check remaining data and subscription status in the user dashboard. If you have connection issues, check your data and plan status before troubleshooting client settings, so you don’t mistake a data limit for a route issue.
What’s the difference between a data package and a monthly plan?
Data packages are ¥158/300GB, ¥358/1000GB, and ¥658/3000GB. They last until the data is used and never expire. Monthly plan data resets on the date the plan started. The main difference is how you use the service, not the number of devices; VPNWind supports unlimited devices. If you use the service occasionally, compare the data package terms. For regular use, compare monthly plans against your typical data usage. Check the dashboard for your account’s plan options, changes, and actual data usage. Don’t assume data automatically carries over or converts between plans.
What payment methods are available, and what should I do if my status doesn’t update after paying?
We accept Alipay, WeChat Pay, and USDT. Create an order in the user dashboard and pay using the details shown on that order’s page. Don’t use payment details saved from an old order. After paying, return to the dashboard to check the order and plan status. If they haven’t updated, confirm that the payment channel shows the payment as complete and that it was for the current order. Don’t create and pay for additional orders just because the page hasn’t changed. If you still can’t confirm the status, submit a support ticket with the order details and any necessary proof, hiding unrelated sensitive information.
How is the price difference handled if I upgrade a monthly plan partway through?
The price difference for a mid-cycle upgrade is converted into remaining days. Check the result in the user dashboard before continuing. Don’t add the old plan’s remaining data to the new plan’s allowance or infer bonus data from the price difference. Before making a change, review your current plan, remaining balance, and the dashboard instructions, and keep any relevant order details. If the displayed result differs from what you expected, pause and contact support through a ticket. Explain your current plan and the tier you want, then confirm before proceeding to avoid confusion from duplicate orders.
How long is the refund period, and where do I apply?
VPNWind offers a 30-day no-questions-asked refund. To request one, sign in to the user dashboard, open a support ticket, and include the order details needed for verification. Read the refund policy for eligibility and application requirements. Deleting the client, disconnecting, or removing local settings does not submit a refund request. If you’re also having a technical issue, describe it so the team can troubleshoot, but clearly state that you’re requesting a refund. Keep the conversation in the dashboard and never post your password or full subscription URL on a public page.
